Cardiology Consultants of Danville, Inc. has a twenty-years long tradition of serving the City of Danville and Pittsylvania County with the best available, state-of-the-art care for patients with the widest range of cardiac conditions. We have just recently moved into a new office building conveniently located on the Executive Drive in Danville, VA, just steps from the Danville Imaging Center and many other medical offices, as well as LabCare and LabCor laboratories.

Our Cardiologists are fully affiliated with the Danville Regional Medical Center. This allows them to provide admissions and inpatient consultations, evaluate cardiac emergencies in the Emergency Room, and perform a number of invasive and non-invasive cardiac procedures in the hospital (see services).

We also have a very close relationship with the Cardiology Department of the Duke University Medical Center, as well as the Duke Cardiothoracic Surgery. Many of our patients requiring highly advanced cardiac treatment, such as high-risk cardiac surgery, heart transplant evaluation, etc., have received these services at Duke.

Besides our board certified cardiologists, physician assistant, and a friendly ancillary staff, you may also occasionally encounter in our office senior medical students of the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine and senior year PA students of the James Madison University, receiving their clinical training with Cardiology Consultants. Your participation in their training is greatly appreciated, but of course entirely voluntary.

Cardiology Consultants has a very active Research Department. Many of our patients elect to participate in current clinical trials investigating the best treatment strategies after heart attacks, cholesterol-improving medications, and other topics. Just during the last ten years, interested patients of Cardiology Consultants participated in over a dozen large international clinical trials and contributed so to the current state of science in cardiology.

Procedures and Conditions

Dr. Zagol sees patients with a wide spectrum of cardiac problems including coronary artery disease, cardiac rhythm disorders, congestive heart failure, cardiac valve disorders, adult congenital heart disease, and other conditions. He performs stress echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, cardioversions, nuclear stress testing, and diagnostic heart catheterizations.

We will gladly call your carrier on your behalf and determine if your services with us will be covered under your contract. Many times the services are covered, but much depends on the particular plan policy.
